Environmental Impact

Better Grease Management. Less Impact on Our Environment.

What happens to fats, oils and grease after they leave a commercial kitchen matters. GreaseShield is designed to remove FOG from wastewater before it enters downstream drainage, helping kitchens take a more responsible approach to grease management.

Why FOG Matters

The Environmental Problem Doesn't End at the Kitchen Sink.

Commercial kitchens produce wastewater containing fats, oils and grease through everyday activities such as food preparation, washing dishes and cleaning cooking equipment.

When FOG enters drainage systems, it can accumulate inside pipework and contribute to blockages. These blockages can cause wastewater to back up and, in some circumstances, contribute to sewer flooding and pollution.

Effective grease management helps tackle the problem at source. Rather than relying solely on dealing with grease further downstream, kitchens can take steps to separate and collect it before discharge.

GreaseShield Technology

Designed to Make a Difference.

GreaseShield combines automatic grease separation and removal with an energy-conscious approach to commercial kitchen wastewater management.

Removing FOG at Source

GreaseShield automatically separates and removes recovered FOG from commercial kitchen wastewater, helping reduce the grease entering downstream drains.

Helping Protect Drainage

By reducing FOG discharge, effective grease management can help limit a contributing cause of drainage build-up, sewer blockages and the associated pollution risks.

Energy-Conscious Engineering

GreaseShield is engineered to operate using low-power automatic recovery mechanisms, with design features that make use of thermal energy already present in kitchen wastewater.

Removal, Not Retention

It's Not Just About Catching Grease.

Traditional passive grease traps separate and retain FOG until it is removed during maintenance. GreaseShield takes a different approach by automatically transferring recovered FOG into an external collection container.

The goal is straightforward: separate grease from wastewater and remove it from the flow, rather than allowing recovered grease to remain in the main separation chamber.

Collected grease must still be stored and disposed of or recovered through an appropriate waste-management route.

Learn About Removal, Not Retention
01

Wastewater Enters

FOG-contaminated kitchen wastewater enters the unit.

02

FOG Is Separated

The separation process allows grease to be recovered from wastewater.

03

Recovered Grease Is Removed

Automatic recovery transfers separated FOG into a collection container.

04

Wastewater Exits

Wastewater leaves the unit with reduced FOG loading.

Efficient by Design

Environmental Thinking Built Into the Technology.

GreaseShield has been engineered to use low-power mechanical separation and recovery rather than relying on high-energy operation as its central process.

The system also makes use of heat already contained in incoming kitchen wastewater to support grease separation. Actual energy consumption depends on the model and operating conditions.

This approach forms part of the overall environmental consideration behind GreaseShield: how equipment performs during everyday use, not simply how it is manufactured.

Environmental Product Information

Environmental Performance Backed by Documentation.

Environmental claims are more useful when customers and specifiers can examine the information behind them.

GreaseShield has existing Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), providing documented environmental information for relevant products.

EPDs support more informed assessments of environmental performance and can help consultants, designers and procurement teams when comparing product information.
